MalLabel Music has some vibes comin’ atcha straight from the jungle this week with our newest in experimental Bass from Asheville, North Carolina’s Live Animals.
Only one man by the name of Josh Stone, Live Animals is a visionary Electronic Music experience that brings together an intrepid bunch of nature’s inspirations, imaginatively recreated through digital finesse and avid introspection. Every single track I’ve heard on it’s own would perfectly illustrate the degree of prowess in his ability to capture the essence of the natural world through a harmony of soundscapes. His new EP, Echoes is a tour de force through sonic explorations with the mastery of natures most noble creatures.
‘Trials’ gets us started with an atmosphere amid tribal machinations and glitched out hollow wooden instruments circling the assessed. Leaving the proving grounds, ‘Assimilation’ takes us on an exploration of the tribe’s inner secrets in this incredibly deep and ethereal progressive roller. ‘Visibillz’ picks it up a bit with a bouncy Trap number filled with worldly rhythms and progressive builds of new ideas climbing on top of each other, one inspired sound concept after another and finishing off with the softest of pianos tugging at the old heart strings. ‘Spirals’ takes these creations into the atmospheric Dubstep domain with some warm bass driving the vocal manipulations after long pauses of deep and inviting emotional pads over an 808. Finally, ‘Luna’ takes a long starlit walk among sultry pitch bends of vocal stabs, flutes and more. A true aural experience and an affair for the senses.
