Dr.Knobz was born and raised in San Francisco and Marin County. He started playing musical instruments at the age of 10, and played drums and orchestral percussion through high school. When Dr. Knobz was 16 he started spinning psytrance on CDJs, and when he moved to Olympia, WA to attend The Evergreen State College, Dr. Knobz fell in love with vinyl and began spinning drum’n'bass, breaks and hip hop. It was also at this time he delved deep into electronic music production, media technology, and media production.

In 2007 Dr. Knobz moved back to the bay and began making custom video mashup software and delved even deeper into music production and sound design, with dubstep, glitch, and whompness, as a general focus, with infusions of many other forms of music. He is also a music collector, and as a DJ it always seeking out the under appreciated and brand new dancefloor-shaking tracks.
