After two tantalizing singles MalLabel Music is finally bringing you a full crawlspace dwelling, dark pit risen, grimy EP from Kansas City’s, Aplsoz after keeping us looming on the edge of the dark abyss with the last two monster singles.
Sitting quite comfortably in his madness, Aplsoz takes pride in his efforts to create sounds that rip through the fabric of the matrix. Shredding through synthesizers with an indomitable desire to push soundboys to lunacy and sound systems to their physical limits, the experimentalism never ceases to impress as the grime punches through to the front and center. With ‘Lo-Fi Lion’ and ‘Visualize’ giving us but a tiny taste of what lurks from within his studio walls we are stoked to jump head first into a fresh new EP with the full flavored aromas of a love he transmits through bass so filthy you can taste the dirt.
The Wizard Of Soz takes us on a journey down the yellow bass road with a friend on either side to drop a couple remixes in for good measure. ‘Rezolution’ opens the EP with epic vocal risers to an immediate drop into the wall of bass and melodic manipulations before ‘Maximum’ takes the digital world out of ether space and rides the digitalis over some fat basslines. ‘Steezin’ is a glitched out Hybrid Trap-Dub monster pumped full of lasers and finally, ‘Fun in the Sun’ brings the heat with the latter getting the treatment with a tripped out Hybrid mix from Bioniks and a psychedelic, Trappy Glitch-Hop thriller from our boy SuDs to bring it home. The Emerald City never heard so much boom.
